Proposals for the enlargement of the Manukau Sewage Purification Works

Based on a previous report by the Director of Works upon the long term planning of the sewage system, dated 24.5.72. It was estimated that the future flow for the whole drainage district would reach four times the flow for which the Manukau Sewage Purification Works were designed but that, if a diversion was arranged to a new works in the Kaipara catchment this could be reduced to just over 3 times. An outline of the additions required for this development is given in this report (14.6.72). As a necessary background, a review of results obtained from the various pilot plants is included
